Kevin – this is really a surprise my friend! Your talent is much needed in the industry.

I will never forget about that time you went to an Insurance Company on Battery Way in NYC and told the CIO of the company that he runs his IT organization like the 1980s. And you meant this from the bottom of your heart. That was both the most beautiful and truthful thing you can say to a customer. Despite sporting an ill-advised mustache for a good number of years, you do an incredible job of connecting the dots between what a salesperson is trying to say and what an IT executive is trying to hear. … My company is desperately trying to find someone with your intellect, communication skills, and ability to “connect the dots”.

Kevin – it’s a real shame to learn that your skills, experience, and ability are no longer required by Micro Focus. For a company based on Cobol to lose someone with your understanding of mainframe is bizarre, to say the least. But their loss will be your gain for sure. You always added huge value to my customers in Serena and your time was fiercely competed for when you came to the UK. It was always a pleasure, a huge amount of fun and massively educational just to be in your presence. I am still citing one of your presentations (and conclusions) today that you made over 10 years back – it has absolutely come to pass (your prediction) that all that matters is what is happening “at the glass”. I know it won’t be long before your next post (both in work and on Linked In!) I wish you all the very best and offer my huge gratitude for all your help and support.

Years ago, Serena acquired TeamShare. I was a 20-something HR Director going through my first acquisition. Pretty scary, especially on the being acquired side. You made me a flower, and you’ll never understand how much that meant to me. Send me your resume and I will keep my eye open for you. I don’t run in that space anymore but you never know who you might meet. And thanks!
